- Pros:
- Easy access with parking lots available at both ends of this leg. Arrastre Trail Camp is a wonderful place to camp and has picnic tables and seasonal water source. This is a great option for people who only have the weekend to get out and adventure, as this can easily be completed in 1 night and 2 days.
- Cons:
- Water sources are very seasonal; the water source dries quickly in the summer.

- End Trailhead: State Highway 18.
- Parking: Parking lot at Onyx summit and State Highway 18, overnight parking is available.

Itinerary:
1 night and 2 days (NOBO)
Day 1:
- Park at Onyx Summit, mile 252. Hike 4 miles to Arrastre Trail Camp (mile 256), enjoy the picnic tables, seasonal water source, and fire pit (weather permitting).
Day 2:
- Start at mile 256 and hike to highway 18, mile 266.1. Get picked up from highway 18 and head to the town of big bear for some fun PCT town time!
